Why do we love this whisky?
The Black Bull name has been a genuine legend in the whisky world since it was first trademarked in 1864. Today, the label is proudly carried forward by the highly respected independent bottlers at Duncan Taylor, who stay incredibly true to the brand's historic, rule-breaking roots. While most standard blends rely heavily on cheaper grain whisky to pad out the bottle, Black Bull uses a massive 50% malt ratio, pulling premium aged spirit from some of the most revered distilleries across the Scottish Highlands and Speyside. By combining this exceptionally high malt content with a bold bottling strength, Duncan Taylor has crafted a fiercely traditional, no-nonsense Scotch that completely redefines what a blended whisky can be.
