Why do we love this whisky?
The 25 Year Old 1994 Single Cask #1849 from BenRiach was selected and bottled exclusively for Taiwan in 2020 as part of the Vintage 1994 Cask Edition, along with other single cask offerings such as the peated Cask #1722. After a quarter of a century spent ageing in a single Pedro Ximenez puncheon, Single Cask #1849 has developed complexity and intense PX cask character imbued in the golden liquid. On the nose are earthy, nutty notes of toasted chestnuts and walnuts. Sweet and rich, the smooth palate showcases warming spices, ginger and nutmeg with intense raisin and ripe berry fruit, all of which effortlessly extend into the lingering, fruity, sweet finish.
